Abstract

With public health spending under growing social and administrative pressure and continuous efforts focusing on enhancing the efficiency of operating procedures, it is very attractive, albeit initially challenging, to consider laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) as an ambulatory procedure, although its development and implementation should be based on professional involvement and commitment.
