Abstract

Recent progress in hormone research has rapidly enriched our knowledge of the peptide ligands, such as neuropeptides and peptide hormones, as well as their specific receptors, to indicate that a complex network of peptidergic cell-cell communication functions to maintain a homeostatic balance in the living body.
