Abstract

This short chapter summarizes the features, obtained results, and remaining subjects of research. To achieve sustainable development and a sustainable society, it is necessary to shift the turning point of the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) to the lower left. With this in mind, this chapter points out the necessity of offering development assistance and transferring technology to developing countries. Finally, the author touches briefly on the stationary state society, as presented by John Stuart Mill, as an image of a sustainable society.
