Abstract
Technique in laparoscopic surgery using long forceps, laparoscopic coagulating shears (LCS, vessel sealing systems, and so on is absolutely different from that in open surgery. The mobility of long forceps used through ports placed at the abdominal wall is limited, and so training is required at a “dry” laboratory before addressing clinical cases. Training in an animal laboratory is much better than that in a dry laboratory, but it is often difficult to access an animal laboratory. It would be ideal to have a dry laboratory in the institution, so any young doctor can access it at any time. Everyone could then be familiar with the items used for laparoscopic surgery and hone skills of required techniques such as ligation.
