Abstract
En bloc laminoplasty, i.e., the insertion of a bone graft between the lamina and the inferior articular process, is widely preferred to laminectomy for the treatment of cervical compression myelopathy. We are now applying a variation for other conditions. This procedure is the true laminoplasty, which was developed from the original en bloc laminoplasty [1] by Itoh and coworkers [2, 3]. It is a type of “open-door laminoplasty” [4, 5], which is generally regarded as a safe and effective procedure.
