Outcome Reporting in Hearing Preservation Surgery:The Place of the MRI Follow-Up

  • Conference paper
Acoustic Neuroma

Abstract

The problem of a potential residual or recurrent acoustic neuroma in the hearing preservation procedure was investigated in a series of 230 consecutive cases that were submitted to a longtime Gd-MRI protocol. The rate of follow-up was 96.9%. It is suggested that clinical reports on the outcome of hearing preservation procedures include a long-term protocol with Gd-MRI at postoperative intervals of 1, 3,6, and 10 years.
