Abstract
The previous chapters have shown that there is considerable potential for energy conservation in the activities of “daily life.” Furthermore, even for the activities of “making things,” we can save energy resources through recycling in comparison to the present practice of production from natural resources. However, even if we can reduce the amount of energy that we consume in this way, we will still need a large amount of energy resources. We cannot continue to depend on fossil fuels. If we just consider the single issue of global warming caused by CO2 emissions, it is clear that we do not have much time left to develop energy resources that can replace fossil fuels.
