Zusammenfassung
Strategien, mit welchen involvierte Akteure und Institutionen Identitäten von Nanowissenschaften und —technologien (NWT) verhandeln, lösen in den betroffenen Wissenschaften Transformationsprozesse aus, die ihre disziplinäre Entwicklung nachhaltig beeinflussen. Dies veranschaulichen wir am Fachbereich der Toxikologie. Wie sich herausstellen wird, führt die Delegation bestimmter Bereiche der Risikoeinschätzung der NWT an die naturwissenschaftliche Risikoforschung auf Seiten der Toxikologie zu einer Reihe von Irritationen. Sie betreffen nicht so sehr die Risiken von Nanomaterialien selber, sondern vielmehr die Frage, wie sich die Toxikologie als Disziplin den Herausforderungen der NWT zu stellen hat und ob diese für sie dabei eine Chance oder eine Gefahr darstellt.
