Auszug

Managed Care führt zu einer deutlichen Steigerung der Anzahl unterschiedlicher institutioneller Arrangements. Aus der ehemaligen „cottage-industry“ im Gesundheitswesen wird zunehmend eine ausdifferenzierte Dienstleistungsbranche mit den unterschiedlichsten Anbietern. Die Entwicklung weg von der simplen Zweiteilung von Leistungserstellung und-finanzierung hin zu dieser Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Organisationsformen hat verschiedene Gründe. Im Folgenden sollen die wichtigsten Zielsetzungen aufgezeigt und anhand von konkreten Beispielen erläutert werden:

  • ■ Verringerung der Transaktionskosten,

  • ■ Nutzung von Skalenerträgen,

  • ■ Aufbau von Marktmacht als Abwehrstrategie,

  • ■ Diversifikation in einen entstehenden Beratungsmarkt,

  • ■ Schaffung von Investitionsmärkten und

  • ■ Schaffung von Wahlmöglichkeiten.
