Zusammenfassung
Ein Teilbereich der Evolutionsbiologie ist die Makroevolution, welche sich auf Artbildung und Unterschiede zwischen Arten sowie höhere taxonomische Gruppen konzentriert. Bei der Mikroevolution werden dagegen Unterschiede innerhalb von Arten betrachtet, die in diesem Beitrag nicht im Fokus stehen. Die Makroevolution fragt beispielsweise, warum Arten so sind, wie sie sind.
