Zusammenfassung

Die mesiale Temporallappenepilepsie oder limbische Epilepsie ist ein klar umschriebenes elektroklinisches Syndrom. Das pathologisch-anatomische Substrat einer limbischen Epilepsie stellt die Hippokampusatrophie dar, wobei das in der Kernspintomographie ermittelte Ausmaß der Hippokampusatrophie mit dem neuronalen Zellverlust korreliert.
