Abstract
The purpose of this article is to describe some progress in understanding the ground state energy of an interacting Bose gas. In particular we would like to understand if a formula obtained by Bogoliubov does in fact give the correct value for the ground state energy. In the early 1960’s there were several papers on the Bogoliubov formula - see [4] for a review - but since then interest seems to have waned.
