Zusammenfassung
Das nur humanpathogene Masernvirus ist ein 100–250 nm großes, sphärisches einzelsträngiges RNS-Virus der Gattung Morbillivirus und gehört gemeinsam mit dem Mumpsvirus und dem RS-Virus zur Familie der Paramyxoviren. Von den sechs bekannten Strukturproteinen bilden drei (P, L, N) das Nukleokapsid. Drei Proteine sind in die Virushülle eingebaut: das Fusionsprotein (F), das Hämagglutinin (H) und das Matrixprotein (M). Beim Eindringen in die Zelle bindet sich das Virus mit Hilfe der Proteine F und M an den humanen CD46-Rezeptor.
