Eine Reihe unterschiedlicher Benzodiazepine werden in der Epilepsietherapie eingesetzt: Diazepam, Clonazepam, Lorazepam und Midazolam werden zur Behandlung des Status epilepticus eingesetzt, die Vor- und Nachteile dieser Substanzen sind im Abschnitt „Status epilepticus“ abgehandelt. In der Langzeittherapie sollten lediglich Clobazam und Clonazepam zur Anwendung gelangen.
