Abstract

It was stated in the preface that the purpose of this book was not to set up one treatment against another. Rather, the aim is examine the principles of treatment and maybe stimulate thought about the optimal way to combine the existing therapeutic methods into a harmonious multi modality management protocol in the best interests of the patient. There are general aspects of meningiomas which provide difficulties for surgeon and Gamma Knife user alike and this chapter is aimed at describing these difficulties with a view to providing a current baseline to which reference may be made.
