Zusammenfassung

In vielen Unternehmen wendet man sich zunächst oder parallel zur externen Suche an den internen Arbeitsmarkt, wenn eine Position zu besetzen ist.1 Bei der Besetzung von Führungspositionen erfolgt die Besetzung in Großunternehmen bzw. in Unternehmen eines internationalen Konzerns tendenziell eher „von innen“, in weniger großen Unternehmen bzw. in konzernunabhängigen Unternehmen „vorwiegend von außen“.2 Weckmüller kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass in Deutschland kaufmännische Führungskräfte eher intern und technisch-naturwissenschaftliche Führungskräfte eher extern rekrutiert werden. Bezogen auf die oberste Führungsebene fand er durch eine Befragung von 376 Unternehmen, dass Spartenorganisationen mehr als Funktionalorganisationen solche Positionen mit internen Kandidaten besetzen.3 Die Binnenrekrutierung ist für beide Seiten mit Vorteilen und Nachteilen verbunden.4
