Zusammenfassung

Wie weit sich Beschäftigte in Betrieben gerecht behandelt fühlen, hängt ganz wesentlich von der Erfüllung ihrer Erwartungen bezüglich einer fairen Belohnung erbrachter Leistungen ab. Diese Gratifikationen sind nicht auf Löhne und Gehälter sowie etwaige Bonuszahlungen begrenzt, sondern schließen auch nicht-monetäre Formen der Anerkennung sowie gewährte Optionen des Erhalts bzw. der Verbesserung des beruflichen Status sowie Arbeitsplatzsicherheit mit ein. Hier bestehen für das Management oft Ermessensspielräume und konkrete Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten. Zur Prüfung negativer Auswirkungen unangemessener oder versagter Gratifikationen auf die Gesundheit von Beschäftigten wurden umfangreiche empirische Untersuchungen durchgeführt. Sie belegen mit hoher Konsistenz erhöhte Risiken stressassoziierter gesundheitlicher Gefährdungen (v. a. Depressionen und Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen). Das Kapitel gibt einen kurzen Überblick über die wichtigsten Forschungsbefunde und erörtert abschließend praktische Folgerungen für die betriebliche Prävention mit Bezug zu positiven Ergebnissen aus Interventionsstudien.
