Zusammenfassung
Der Begriff „Bioökonomie“ (Bioeconomy) entstammt nicht der Wissenschaft, sondern der Politik, wo er seit Anfang des 21. Jahrhunderts zunächst als „biobasierte Ökonomie“ (biobased economy) geprägt wurde. Die Wirtschaftswissenschaft kannte bis dahin nur den Begriff „Bioökonomik“ (Bioeconomics), der die Bedeutung der Begrenztheit natürlicher Ressourcen für den Wirtschaftsprozess hervorhebt.
