Zusammenfassung
Die Motorik des Herzens ist ein ganz besonderer Fall automatisch gesteuerter Motorik. Die Aufgabe des Herzens, das Blut rund zu pumpen, erfordert ununterbrochene Arbeit, rund um die Uhr, pausenlos – und das jahrelang! Der Herzmuskel ist hiermit wohl der „fleißigste“ Muskel des menschlichen Körpers.
Das Herz verfügt über ein eigenes Erregungsleitungssystem, das aus Sicherheitsgründen unabhängig vom zentralen Nervensystem, und damit autonom, arbeiten kann. Auch die Adaption der Frequenz des Herzens bei körperlicher Arbeit findet auf rein automatischer Ebene statt, und eine bewusste Beeinflussung ist unmöglich: diese wäre auch höchst unpraktisch.
Es besteht aber eine recht eingeschränkte Option, indirekt die Herzfrequenz durch Atmung und bewusste Entspannung zu steuern. Yoga und autogenes Training sind Beispiele für diese beabsichtigten Entspannungstechniken.
