Zusammenfassung
Unfälle sind die häufigste Todesursache im Alter von <20 Jahren. Im Jahr 2012 wurden in der BRD 308 letale Unfälle bei Kindern <15 Jahren registriert. Thoraxtraumen sind in 5,4 % beteiligt, nur ein Viertel dieser Thoraxverletzungen tritt isoliert auf. Bauchtraumen sind zu 6 % beteiligt, hier ist ein Drittel isoliert. Das Verhältnis stumpfer zu scharfer Verletzungen liegt in Europa bei 9:1.
