Zusammenfassung

Es wird die These vertreten, dass ein Mensch, um dem Einfluss eines Traumas oder einer psychischen Erkrankung entrinnen zu können, Hilfe zur Wiederherstellung der Mentalisierungsfähigkeit braucht. Eine der Hilfsmöglichkeiten ist das Erinnern im Kontext einer dauerhaften psychoanalytischen Beziehung. In diesem Kapitel werden Gründe für die bleibende Bedeutung des Erzählens der Lebensgeschichte dargelegt. Wie schon im vorherigen Kapitel dargelegt, ist das Erinnern im Kontext der Lebensgeschichte z. B. wichtig, um im Fall des okkupierten Selbst das verfolgende Objekt in der zu erarbeitenden Selbst-Objekt-Differenzierung an seinen Platz außerhalb des Selbst verweisen zu können. Im autobiographischen Erzählen bzw. im vollen Sprechen kann sich ein kohärentes Selbst entwickeln, dass „die Voraussetzung für die Entstehung von Identität“ (Rudolf 2016, S. 29) ist. Die Lebensgeschichte wird verstanden als die umfassendste Form, die Identität eines Individuums zu fassen.
