Zusammenfassung
Im Alltag erschließen wir Persönlichkeitseigenschaften intuitiv aus wiederholten Beobachtungen. Schon bei der ersten Begegnung bilden wir uns sehr schnell einen ersten Eindruck, den wir dann durch weitere Beobachtungen in anderen Situationen modifizieren und differenzieren können. Die empirische Psychologie beschreibt den Prozess der Eindrucksbildung mit dem Linsenmodell der Personenwahrnehmung von Brunswik. In diesem Kapitel werden dieses Modell und Befunde zur Persönlichkeitswahrnehmung dargestellt, z. B. die Rolle von Bewerbungsfotos, woran man Homosexualität erkennen kann und worauf Attraktivität beim ersten Date beruht.
