Zusammenfassung
Die Neusynthese von Purinnucleotiden erfolgt ausgehend von Ribose-5-phosphat, das aus dem Pentosephosphatweg stammt, in zehn Reaktionsschritten. Dabei wird der Purinring aus zwei Aminogruppen aus Glutamin, einem Molekül Glycin, zwei Formylresten aus N10-Formyl-Tetrahydrofolat, einem CO2 und einer Aminogruppe aus Aspartat aufgebaut. Insgesamt müssen dabei sechs ATP aufgewendet werden.
