Zusammenfassung

Seit ihrer Einführung in den1980er-Jahren werden vollständig implantierbare zentralvenöse Zugänge bei Krebspatienten sehr häufig verwendet. Diese Systeme können bei langfristiger Chemotherapie und anderen Verfahren die Verabreichung erleichtern und den Patienten einige Unannehmlichkeiten ersparen. Obwohl erhebliche Unterschiede im Umgang mit diesen Ports bestehen, gibt es allgemein anerkannte Empfehlungen, die in der klinischen Praxis berücksichtigt werden sollten.
