Zussamenfassung
Obwohl das Marfan-Syndrom seit über einem Jahrhundert bekannt ist, ermöglichte erst der 1991 erbrachte Nachweis von Mutationen in dem Gen für Fibrillin-1 (FBN1) als Ursache des Marfan-Syndroms die gezielte Forschung nach Behandlungsstrategien für betroffene Personen.
