Abstract
Alpha Ventus provided the start signal for offshore wind energy in Germany – and for the offshore research initiative RAVE (Research at Alpha Ventus). Responsible for the coordination of the research activities was Fraunhofer IWES. The most important task of this project was to create a mutually agreed cooperation structure for all those involved in the project. This included the organisational and scientific networking of all research partners from the over 50 participating research institutes and organisations. Typical tasks in the coordination project included the organisation of the legal framework, drawing up of measurement concepts, accreditation of researchers for the research archive and PR work.
