Zusammenfassung
Grundlage der Indikation zur Anwendung eines manuellen medizinischen Behandlungsverfahrens ist die Feststellung einer reversiblen Funktionsstörung an der Wirbelsäule oder an peripheren Gelenken. Die manualmedizinische Diagnosestellung beruht auf der Erhebung eines segmentalen pathologischen Palpationsbefundes, der die Indikation für weiterführende manuelle Diagnostik und Therapie darstellt. Die Indikationsstellung basiert somit auf einer Begriffsausweitung der „klassischen“ Blockierung um die segmentale Dysfunktion, die rezeptiv vermittelt unter wesentlicher Beteiligung des myofaszialen Systems abläuft. Weiterhin wirken reflektorische Mechanismen, sogenannte Verkettungen von Funktionsstörungen innerhalb des Bewegungssystems, aber auch vertebroviszeral, viszerovertebral und viszerokutan, deren Zusammenhänge in diesem Kapitel aufgezeigt werden.
