Zusammenfassung
Biomechanische Aspekte sind neben neurophysiologischen Zusammenhängen Grundlage für das Verständnis der manuellen Medizin. Wesentliche diagnostische und therapeutische Zusammenhänge können so bei Beachtung von Struktur, Funktion, Belastung und Beanspruchung von Knochen, Muskeln, Bindegewebe und von Gelenken sowie funktionellen Verknüpfungen (Verkettungen) erklärt werden und sind maßgebend für die Vermittlung manualmedizinischer Vorgehensweisen. In diesem Kapitel werden neben biomechanischen Grundlagen, angewandte Aspekte der Biomechanik peripherer Gelenke, der Wirbelsäule und des Beckens behandelt. Im Bereich der Wirbelsäule sind grundlegende Konzepte der Analyse von Kraft-Weg-Kurven nach White und Panjabi, übertragen auf die Modellvorstellungen der manuellen Medizin dargestellt. Neben diverser Begrifflichkeiten werden relevante Aspekte der funktionellen Anatomie der verschiedenen Wirbelsäulenabschnitte und des Beckens erläutert und auf manualmedizinische Vorgehensweisen übertragen.
