Zusammenfassung
Insbesondere beim alten Menschen ist es Aufgabe der Intensivtherapie durch Optimierung der perioperativen Behandlung Komplikationen zu vermeiden und – falls sie sich dennoch realisieren – diese gegebenenfalls zeitnah zu erkennen und zu behandeln. Vorbestehende Einschränkungen mentaler Art, in Ernährung und Flüssigkeitszufuhr, Einschränkungen in der Mobilität und andere Komorbiditäten bedingen ein erhöhtes Risiko für allgemeine und für operationsspezifische Komplikationen, aber auch für nosokomiale Infektionen. Diese Tatsache muss in der Anpassung von Intensivüberwachung und -therapie an die individuellen Gegebenheiten des Patienten berücksichtigt werden. In diesem Kapitel wird speziell auf mentale Störungen, Ernährung, Pneumonierisiko, Mobilisierung und allgemeine Risikostratifizierung eingegangen, da hierbei besondere Aspekte beim alten Menschen zu beachten sind.

CAGE: Steht für einen Fragebogen, der aus vier Fragen besteht bei der Frage nach einer Alkoholoder Substanzsuchterkrankung: C = cut down, A = Annoyed, G = Guilty, E = Eye-opener.

TUGT: Patienten sitzen in einem Standardstuhl mit Lehne mit einer Linie 3 Meter von dem Stuhl entfernt und müssen dann Aufstehen, bis zur Linie gehen, sich umdrehen und zum Stuhl zurückkehren und sich hinsetzen. Die Zeit wird gestoppt.
