Zusammenfassung

Das kolorektale Karzinom hat seinen Erkrankungsgipfel in der 7. Lebensdekade und betrifft somit in über 50 % der Fälle den älteren Menschen. Im Jahr 2014 traten, basierend auf den Daten des Robert-Koch-Institutes, insgesamt 62.420 Neuerkrankungen auf. Generell ist die Entwicklung der sozialen Bevölkerungs- und Altersstruktur in Deutschland mit einer durchschnittlichen aktuellen Lebenserwartung der Sechzigjährigen von 21,2 Jahren bei Männern und 24,9 Jahren bei Frauen verbunden. Hieraus wird ersichtlich, dass die multidisziplinäre onkologische Behandlung altersbezogen eine immer bedeutendere medizinische und gesundheitsökonomische Rolle einnimmt.
