Zusammenfassung

Die Liste der Krankheiten, unter den Patienten im Alter leiden, ist lang und unübersichtlich. Einige Alterskrankheiten mit überragender Bedeutung und ihre Therapie werden in diesem Kapitel beschrieben: Schlaganfall, Herzinsuffizienz, koronare Herzkrankheit, Hypertonus, Vorhofflimmern, Osteoporose, Frakturen und Alterstraumatologie, Amputationen und Prothesenversorgung, Demenz, Delir, Depression, Gerontostomatologie, Diabetes mellitus, rheumatologischen Erkrankungen sowie Infektionen mit Problemkeimen.
