Zusammenfassung

Das Mentalisierungskonzept von Fonagy et al. fokussiert die Entwicklungskomponenten, die zur Bildung eines kohärenten, starken Selbst führen und umfasst Kognitives und Affektives gleichermaßen, sowohl bei der eigenen Person als auch im Bezug auf andere. Voraussetzung für den Erwerb guter Mentalisierungsfähigkeiten sind eine sichere Bindung und gute Mentalisierungsfähigkeiten der Betreuungspersonen. Mentalisierungsstörungen finden sich bei psychosozialen Auffälligkeiten sowie bei zahlreichen psychischen Störungen und Erkrankungen. Von Fonagy et al. wurde die mentalisierungsbasierte Therapie (MBT) entwickelt. Wesentlichstes Element ist die permanente Anregung zu mentalisieren. MBT ist mit jedem Psychotherapieverfahren vereinbar und war im Grunde schon immer Ingredienz jeder Art von Psychotherapie. Das Indikationsspektrum für MBT umfasste ursprünglich nur Borderline-Persönlichkeitsstörungen. Wegen seines durchschlagenden Erfolgs konnte das Indikationsspektrum erheblich ausgeweitet werden.
