Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel werden Finite-Differenzen-Methoden für die generische skalare Transportgleichung beschrieben. Hier werden Methoden zur Approximation 1., 2. und gemischter Ableitungen unter Verwendung der Taylor-Reihenentwicklung und der Polynomanpassung vorgestellt. Die Herleitung von Methoden höherer Ordnung und die Behandlung von nichtlinearen Termen und Randbedingungen wird diskutiert. Aufmerksamkeit wird auch den Auswirkungen von nichtäquidistanten Gittern auf den Abbruchfehler und die Abschätzung von Diskretisierungsfehlern gewidmet. Die Anwendung einiger der grundlegenden Methoden an mehreren Beispielen wird für kartesische Gitter beschrieben. Spektrale Methoden werden ebenfalls kurz vorgestellt, sowohl als Analysewerkzeuge als auch als Methoden zur Lösung von Differentialgleichungen.
