Zusammenfassung
Von den verschiedenen Arten der Polarität der Pflanzen ist die Spitzen-Basis-Polarität oder Vertizibasilität, wie z. B. die Differenzierung in Thallus und Rhizoid oder in Sproß und Wurzel, die auffallendste. Im vorangegangenen Kapitel1 sind die morphologischen, histologischen und physiologischen Erscheinungen verschiedener Symmetrieachsen in der Zelle, in den einzelnen Organen und in der ganzen Pflanze beschrieben. Vergleichende Morphologie, Anatomie und Cytologie haben die große Bedeutung der Polarität für Wachstum und Entwicklung deutlich gemacht (s. Goebel 1928, S. 210ff.).
