Evaluation of Results

  • Chapter
Current Cancer Research 1986

Abstract

According to its statutes it is the function of the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum to carry through cancer research. The center plans and designs its scientific program in the light of this obligation. Public funds are used almost exclusively to carry through the research program, necessitating an efficient and as successful an application as possible. Evaluation of results is hence a recognized element in the research process and is one of the tasks of the responsible organs acting on the part of the Cancer Research Center. Expertises based on site visits by external visiting committees are a major prerequisite for decisions on the promotion of research activities and disciplines as well as the establishment of scientific focal points.
