Abstract
Cancer develops from cells which deviate from normal cells in their uncoordinated proliferation and defective differentiation. How do normal cells turn into cancer cells? How do cell proliferation and cell differentiation alter during carcinogenesis? How can the recognition of cancer cells and their precursors be improved? What properties of cancer cells determine their sensitivity to chemical or physical treatment procedures? These questions are central to the research work at the Institute of Experimental Pathology.
