Abstract

Premature delivery and postterm pregnancy are not just medical problems facing health care, but the accompanying complications and problems also lead to morbidity and mortality. One of the hurdles in management and prevention of such problems is a lack of understanding of the underlying physiological processes which may lend themselves to better pharmacological or other interventions. This has led to studies on understanding processes involved in the onset of labor.
