Zusammenfassung

Schwindel ist nach Kopf- und Nackenschmerz die häufigste Komplikation eines Schädel-Hirn-Traumas oder einer HWS-Distorsion. Wenn nicht radiologisch eine klare Felsenbeinfraktur mit Hämatotympanon oder klinisch eine Hirnstammkontusion gesichert sind, ergeben sich als erste Fragen: Handelt es sich um einen organischen oder einen psychogenen Schwindel? Welcher Mechanismus (peripher oder zentral vestibulär, psychogen oder „zervikogen“) liegt dem Schwindel zugrunde?
