Abstract

Ethics and nature can be approached from different perspectives: in this book Harold Coward and Dieter Birnbacher offer excellent and thought provoking reviews of the contributions of philosophy and the history of religions to that field. I am not an historian of theology or a philosopher. I am a geographer, a geographer interested in the cultural approach to the discipline46: I think that the best I can do is to present, as a counterpoint to Coward’s and Birnbacher’s papers, a geographical perspective on the problem.
