  • Chapter
Clinical and Radiological Aspects of Myopathies

Abstract

In order to correlate radiological data, in particular the significance of density measurements, to parameters which are used in pathology to measure muscular atrophy and hypertrophy, 21 muscle biopsies taken from patients with various neuromuscular diseases (Table 8.1) were examined. The biopsies had been taken from the m. vastus lateralis exactly 15 cm above the upper edge of the patella, the level at which the CT scans are also carried out.
