Conventional Radiological Techniques and Radioisotope Methods in the Investigation of Myopathies

  • Chapter
Clinical and Radiological Aspects of Myopathies

Abstract

Prior to and independent of the introduction of CT into clinical medicine, diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine made significant contributions to the study of diseases involving the neuromuscular system. Many of these procedures will continue to be employed and further developed, either separately or integrated with others such as CT and ultrasound (Korobkin 1978). Therefore a description of them seems indicated here.
