Abstract

The European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN near Geneva, Switzerland is a unique place in the scientific universe. CERN was founded in the early 1950s immediately after the Second World War. Scientists from more than 60 countries work there to push the boundaries of knowledge about the smallest particles.
