Zusammenfassung
Die Unternehmensgrenze resultiert aus den Entscheidungen eines Unternehmens zwischen Fremdbezug über den Markt und Eigenfertigung im Unternehmen [28] in Bezug auf die Aktivitäten, die in der jeweiligen Industrie relevant sind (vgl. [6], S. 105 und hier und in diesem Absatz [21], S. 1 und [23]). Zurückgehend auf Williamson wird der Fremdbezug über den Markt teilweise auch als Nutzung der Governance-Form Markt und die Eigenfertigung im Unternehmen als Nutzung der Governance-Form Hierarchie bezeichnet [35]. Kapitalbeteiligungen und Allianzen stellen Zwischenformen dieser Governance-Formen (vgl. [6], S. 106) dar und werden zum Teil unter dem Begriff hybride Governance-Formen subsummiert (vgl. eingeschränkt [35]).
