Zusammenfassung

Das 21. Jahrhundert wird maßgeblich durch die Thematik der Urbanisierung geprägt, denn mittlerweile leben weltweit betrachtet mehr als die Hälfte aller Menschen in Städten. Prognosen gehen davon aus, dass es bis 2050 sogar über 70 % der Weltbevölkerung sein wird. Das <wiederkehrende Interesse für das Wohnen in der Stadt ist unter anderem auf die zahlreichen sozialen, Bildungs-, Kultur- und Konsumangebote, die räumliche Nähe zum Arbeitsplatz sowie eine gute Infrastruktur zurückzuführen.
