Abstract
In the preceding chapter, I delineate novelty as articulated through a technical form. Novelty is the moment when things work together, when parts click in and a material assemblage individuates. However, it is not every scholar’s approach to use novelty as a concept for capturing such moments in material practice. The perspective of biographical passages regards novelty as cultural valorization, which is not concerned with material practice but with discourses.
