Vor allem aus erzieherischer Praxis, aus Popularphilosophie und -psychologie entsteht die Klinische Psychologie mit drei Therapierichtungen: Verhaltenstherapie, Kognitive und Tiefenpsychologische Therapie. Psychologische Psychotherapie hat die Anerkennung als selbständiger Heilberuf erreicht.
