Abstract

The present study demonstrates that the ideas of the German and Brazilian governments on global renewable energy governance differ considerably. The differences involve all elements that structured the analysis of global governance ideas: it includes the perspectives on the global challenges addressed by renewable energy promotion, the specification of and differentiation between different renewable energy options, the barriers to worldwide promotion of renewables, the tasks for transboundary policy-making, the relevant global governors and the salient features/meta-aspects in global renewable energy governance.
