Abstract
We use the XACML implementation of SUN (sunxacml.sourceforge.net) with a patch which enhances both the code quality and already contains some XACML 3.0 features. Altough the Sun Microsystems (SUN) project is not maintained anymore (the last update on the project website dates back to June 2006), it was the most accurate open source implementation available at the time we started our prototypic implementation (2008). This implementation turned out to be a well-designed implementation, almost bug free, supporting the full XACML 2.0 standard, and allows for an easy adoption and modification (as discussed in section 7.2). Thus, we had no motive to switch to another implementation.
