Abstract
The task of the tomographic reconstruction algorithm is to recover the unknown distribution of the X-ray attenuation coefficients based on the measured data. In this chapter a family of iterative reconstruction algorithms will be discussed. First, the formulation of the discrete model will be introduced and the reconstruction problem will be formulated as an optimization problem. Second, two types of iterative reconstruction algorithms, namely algebraic and statistical reconstruction will be presented.
