Zusammenfassung
Das Fallbeispiel untersucht die komplexe Geschichte des Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) in Alaska, das sich seit Jahrzehnten im Kreuzfeuer zwischen Ölförder- und Umweltschutzinteressen befindet. Es geht dabei nicht um eine simplistische Gegenüberstellung von Ökonomie und Ökologie, sondern darum wie unterschiedliche Akteure auf lokalen, regionalen und globalen Ebenen ökologische und ökonomische Argumente für ihre Zwecke benutzen.
Dieser Beitrag ist eine überarbeitete Fassung des Artikels „Wer bestimmt über die Ressourcen der Arktis? Der Konflikt um das Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR)“ in der ersten Auflage dieses Buches.
